The Texas Transportation Commission, the governing body of the Texas Department of Transportation, approved nearly $1.5 million in IT-related projects and improvements for Fiscal Year 2025.

In an Oct. 31 meeting, the commission considered grant funding for transportation infrastructure and facilities in various counties across the state.

The commission approved $200,000 for Dallas County to purchase license plate reading cameras, specifically for identifying fraudulent metal license plates.

An existing Tarrant County project received $250,000 in emergency funds for the development and support of a user application for facilitating transit.
