The Texas Department of Public Safety spent $9,171,727 on its five largest IT-related purchases during the second quarter of 2023.

The agency is responsible for the state’s law enforcement and driver’s license and ID administration. The department also conducts "major crime prevention operations along the international border with Mexico,” according to its website.

Regarding specific purchases, the DPS spent about $4.9 million on maintenance and repair of computer software, $2.8 million on IT services, $2.2 million on computer software, $2 million on telecommunications and $1.8 million on communication services.
