Here, rounded up, are the agency’s top five vendors listed under the IT services product category, according to the comptroller’s “Payments to Payee” visualization:
- $45 million to the Texas Department of Information Resources, which offers technology solutions to state and local government entities
- $21.9 million to Deloitte Consulting LLP, which provides audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management and tax services
- $10.8 million to UT Health Science Center at Houston, a comprehensive academic health center within the University of Texas system
- $8.9 million to Insight Public Sector, which provides hardware, software and cloud solutions and services
- $7.7 million to Vexcel Corp., a subsidiary of Microsoft that provides end-to-end solutions
Regarding specific expenditures across categories, HHSC spent $78.4 million on IT services; $42.8 million on computer services — statewide technology center; $20 million on purchased contracted services; $19.7 million on personal property — maintenance and repair — computer software — expensed; and $6.8 million on computer equipment rental.
