Tracking the Spend: HHS Spent $59M on IT Goods in Q1

The department’s five largest purchases of IT goods during the first quarter totaled just under $60 million. Specific buys included computer, IT and contracted services.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHS) spent about $59 million on its five largest IT purchases in this year’s first quarter.

The agency oversees various programs and organizations, including clinics, health organizations and resource centers; foster care; Medicaid; the children’s health insurance program; Medicare; palliative care; and women and children services.

Regarding specific purchases, HHS spent $26 million on computer services, $13 million on IT services, $7.5 million on purchased contracted services, $4.2 million on communication services, $2.5 million on computer equipment and $2.1 million on telecommunications.
