According to the Texas IT Spending Dashboard on Industry Insider — Texas, the largest spend during that time went to IT, at $181.38 million. The second-largest spend was on personal property maintenance and repair — computer software, at $82.5 million.

Coming in at No. 3 was purchased contract services, at $29.54 million.

Those top three categories accounted for about 73 percent of the commission's 2021 expenditures. By comparison, the commission spent $362.94 million in calendar year 2020.

The commission's top spend in calendar year 2020 was IT services at $149.76 million. The second-largest spend in that year was for personal property maintenance and repair — computer software, at $70 million. Coming in at No. 3 in 2020 was purchased contract services for $31.83 million.

Those top three categories accounted for about 69 percent of the commission's 2020 expenditures.
