The agency with a mission to “provide the governor and the president with ready forces in support of state and federal authorities at home and abroad” spent about a quarter of a million dollars on its top five IT spends in the last months of 2022.

The Texas Military Department spent exactly $136,100,318 on 318 purchase orders during the final quarter.

Compared to just one month – June – the amounts for IT and telecommunications aren't as high as past purchases. According to Industry Insider — Texas’ IT Spending Dashboard, companies that sold to the department during June included Motorola, price tag of $3.9 million, and Dell Marketing, price tag of $1.5 million.

In the final quarter, the most obvious technical spends totaled close to $300,000, while the highest amount went to a storm services company that assists with recovery efforts.

Here, with rounding, is where the agency spent technical money, based on data from the Texas Comptroller’s (CPA) “Payment to Payee” visualization.

The periodic reports of spending on IT goods and services by agencies and departments in state government are compiled by Industry Insider — Texas as a way of highlighting procurements and trends.
