Travis County Budgets $110M+ for 2026 IT Spending

Travis County’s newly adopted budget for Fiscal Year 2026 includes $112 million in technology-related funding, supporting core IT operations, risk management platforms and digital services across multiple departments.

The county’s Technology and Operations (TOPS) service group, which oversees the IT Services department, information security and other administrative domains, is allocated $91.4 million to support operations, personnel, maintenance and countywide IT projects, plus an additional $7 million for centralized computer services.

In addition, the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Risk Fund includes $11 million for systems related to cybersecurity, risk mitigation and resilience.

Technology funding also extends into departmental programs. Court-related technology funds include $321,000 for County/District Courts systems, $198,000 for general court technology and $167,000 for District Courts records management.
