The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) requires a statewide license plate inventory management system as part of its compliance with House Bill 718, which now requires motor vehicle dealers to issue metal license plates.
According to HB 1, TxDMV has been appropriated $35 million and had its capital budget increased by $15.5 million for the state fiscal biennium for HB 718’s implementation.
The department is seeking a cloud-based system, preferably a software-as-a-service or commercial off-the-shelf option.
The chosen solution will handle profile management, license plate sequences, license plate manufacturing, all inventory functions, license plate assignment, quality control, enforcement, reporting and training.
Proposed solutions must integrate with TxDMV’s eLICENSING application, manage location demographic details for relevant TxDMV locations, offer appropriate role-based access, enable approval workflows, include a co-browse function and more.
The solution must work on all Apple, Android, Windows and Mac operating systems.
The agency is offering an initial one-year contract with the possibility of extension or renewal.
