TxDOT Requests Security Upgrades for Houston HQ

TxDOT has estimated the cost of the requested security upgrades to be $430,000.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) from qualified vendors to furnish, install and program an access control system for its Houston district headquarters.

According to the RFP, the requested system “must be compatible with TxDOT’s latest version [of] Software House C●CURE as a standard.”

The chosen vendor will need to furnish and install card readers, gate releases, control panels, intercoms, access control cabling, surge protection and CCTV. Included project specifications require the demolition of existing chainlink fencing and gates, as well as the clearing of trees, bushes and vines on TxDOT property.

TxDOT has estimated the cost of the requested security upgrades to be $430,000.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Jan. 4 at 9 a.m. The deadline for question submissions is Jan. 9. at 5 p.m. The deadline for submission of proposals is Feb. 7 at 1 p.m. Michael Nguyen is the point of contact for this RFP.
