The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has issued a request for offers (RFO) for asset management software as a service (SaaS).

The department’s 2023-2027 Strategic Plan lists the development of optimal asset management programs as one of its main objectives with the specific goal of preserving and protecting existing infrastructure investments through emergency maintenance response and damage repair.

Although TxDOT’s capital budget does not specifically mention asset management SaaS, it does include $55.4 million for technology replacements and upgrades.

TxDOT intends to award a contract with a start date of June 21 and an expiration date of June 20, 2025, with the option to renew for two one-year periods. According to the RFO, TxDOT “will order only the amount needed to satisfy operation requirements,” although a specific amount is not listed in the solicitation.

More detailed information about RFO No. 601440000043382, including all submission requirements and requests, can be found online. The deadline for questions is 12 p.m. Wednesday. The deadline for responses is 3 p.m. April 25. Laurie Wilemon is the point of contact for this RFO.
