TxDOT previously issued a pre-solicitation notice for said services in January, where the agency requested “software development services in support of various future TxDOT initiatives.”
According to the RFO, TxDOT is seeking a contractor who will be responsible for “providing software design and build services, software customization services, software enhancement services, software break fix services, and/or software post-implementation support services for existing TxDOT software applications and platforms.”
The estimated term of the contract is one year with up to four optional one-year renewals.
The department has various software-related projects listed in its capital budget for the fiscal year, according to HB 1:
- $24 million has been allocated for the Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS)
- $42 million has been allocated for cybersecurity initiative projects
- $15 million has been allocated for mainframe legacy modernization
