TxDOT Seeks Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Replacement

The solution must support high-performance rendering for multiple display protocols, desktop clone technology and real-time application delivery.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is shopping for a replacement of its virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and application delivery solution.

According to a request for offers (RFO), TxDOT’s current system is Omnissa Horizon Enterprise Plus.

The agency requires a solution that can deliver both Windows and Linux virtual desktops including the following features across both on-premises and multicloud environments:
  • Advanced management
  • Scalability
  • User experience features
  • Virtual desktop provisioning
  • Remote access
The solution must support high-performance rendering for multiple display protocols, desktop clone technology, real-time application delivery and secure remote access via Unified Access Gateway. Applications must persist across user sessions.

Additional value provided by vendors to be considered include training, technical support for data maintenance, solution compatibility for data exchange and upgrade capacity.
