TxDOT to Hire IT Network Section Director

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is hiring an IT network section director.

According to the job posting, the IT network section director leads the agency’s ITD Network Section in conducting research, staff augmentation, maintaining network security, defining software standards and working closely with technology leaders, stakeholders and vendor partners.

The IT network section director reports to the chief information officer, Anh Selissen.

Responsibilities listed in the posting include analyzing the efficiency of system procedures, reviewing vendor bids, establishing best practices, participating in strategic and operational planning, supervising professional and technical staff, coordinating with data center services and more.

The listing calls for an applicant with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or a related field. Relevant work experience may act as a substitute on a year-per-year basis.

Applicants must have five years of experience in network operations, which may be substituted for relevant graduate-level experience, and three years of supervisory or managerial experience.
