The University of Houston has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for a cloud-based digital signage software solution.

According to the RFP, the university serves over 46,000 students and employs approximately 2,700 faculty members and 4,000 staff members.

The requested solution will be administered centrally and will allow local content owners to manage content at distributed sites.

Feature requirements listed in the RFP include Active Directory authentication, granular permission groups, remote device health/status management, the ability to push software updates via an administration panel, reports/analytics, a content library of applications and templates, cloud-based content management and QR code creation.

The chosen vendor will be required to provide 24/7 support and service availability, extensive training for signage administration and end-user support, references from existing customers and assistance with migrating current signs to the new platform.
