The Texas IT Spending Dashboard on Industry Insider — Texas can break down that spending by calendar year, quarters and more.
Take calendar year 2021, for example. The Dashboard lists the top 10 departments by IT spend, ranked from largest to smallest.
The Texas Legislature sets the state's budget every two years, and the fiscal year starts on Sept. 1. Texas enacted its FY 2022-2023 biennial budget in June 2021. The enacted budget included $248.6 billion in total spending and $116.4 billion in general fund spending over the two-year period, according to urban.org.
According to the urban.org website, Gov. Greg Abbott has not released a supplemental budget proposal.
The next biennial budget takes effect Sept. 1, 2024.
