Workforce Solutions Cameron (WFSC) is seeking proposals for a complete redesign and ongoing support of its public-facing website, aiming to deliver a more modern, accessible and user-centric digital experience for residents and businesses across Cameron County.

The agency, which operates under the Texas Workforce Commission’s workforce network, provides employment and training services through two one-stop centers in South Texas. With its website last updated in 2017, WFSC is now looking to overhaul the platform to better reflect the evolving needs of its diverse user base.

The selected vendor will be responsible for redesigning and migrating the site to WordPress, while ensuring high availability, performance and security. The revamped site will feature improved navigation, content accessibility, mobile responsiveness and expanded functionality, including multilingual support, booking tools, social media integration and a 24/7 customer service chatbot plugin.

The chosen contractor is expected to conduct a full content audit, optimize user experience and ensure compliance with federal accessibility standards. Additional requirements include advanced search capabilities, search engine optimization improvements and integration with Google Analytics for tracking user engagement and site performance.

Maintenance and support will be a key component of the ongoing service agreement. This includes quarterly maintenance reports, regular updates for the content management system and emergency after-hours support. Up to four hours of monthly development or design time is also expected to be included in the contract.

The contract will initially run for one year, with the possibility of up to four additional one-year renewals based on performance and funding availability. Funding for the project is provided through state and federal workforce allocations.
