The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services’ will host its second town-hall meeting on FirstNet, the federal government’s planned nationwide public safety communications network.
Those who attend will hear directly from a FirstNet representative about FirstNet’s national service vision, service offers and applications; learn about California’s developments and current initiatives; hear how FirstNet will impact public safety communications; and other local perspectives. Other topics will include the network’s cost and when it might be available.
Congressional legislation has allocated spectrum in the 700 MHz band and up to $7 billion for construction of the FirstNet network.
