The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) is seeking a section chief (IT manager I) for the Information Technology Acquisitions & Projects (ITAP) Section. The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is recruiting for two key leadership positions: the director (program manager III) and deputy director (program manager II) of the State Operations Center (SOC). Both positions provide leadership to the Incident Support Team within the Incident Command System (ICS) structure, which is used to respond to emergencies and disasters within the state.
Incumbents in both positions are “required to complete emergency response-related training, including both training in general response functions/structure and on their specific role within the ICS, and achieve and maintain the appropriate credentialing level,” the duty statements say. “This team will participate in emergency drills, training, and exercises outside of activations.
