1. Accounting Software Maintenance for the Department of Water Resources

The Department of Water Resources (DWR) is seeking a quote from a company that will maintain the existing Utility Cost Accounting and Billing (UCAB) and the Cost Allocation and Repayment Analysis (CARA) systems. As a consultant, the company will act as a subject matter expert and work with the DWR and the Department of Technology to improve the accuracy of the systems and offer effective solutions to system integration issues and other business problems. The UCAB/CARA systems are responsible for about $1.2 billion in annual bills per year from 29 water contractors.

The two-year contract will begin Aug. 1 and can be extended an extra two years and/or 10 percent. The bid closes on July 13.

2. Management Information System Implementation for Department of Public Health

The Department of Public Health and the Office of Systems Integration are seeking a contractor to transfer, modify and implement a Management Information System for California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). Once the maintenance and operations contract is completed, those services will fall to the Department of Public Health. The three-year contract could extend in one-year extensions for another four years. The proposed management information system must follow U.S. Department of Agriculture certifications and integrate with the Electronic Benefit System, among other interface standards.

3. Radio over Internet Protocol for Department of Technology

The Department of Technology’s request for bids on a PC-based radio over Internet protocol console system closes tomorrow. The three-year contract, which could extend up to five years, would replace and maintain the current “un-networked” radios and legacy console systems.

4. Single Sign-on Protocol for the Department of Justice

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is seeking a contractor to create a federated identity solution for systems shared between DOJ and the University of California San Diego. The contractor will also act as a federation broker for the Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System 2.0 for the life of the contract.
