The Office of Technology and Solutions Integration (OTSI), part of the California Health and Human Services Agency, is seeking an agency information security officer (AISO) to lead the planning and development of CalHHS’ Information Security Strategy and related policies and standards.
The AISO (IT Manager II) “drives corresponding tactical activities aimed at increasing the information security maturity level of CalHHS entities’ information assets,” the job posting says. Desirable qualifications for the position include:
- Experience as an information security officer or a chief information officer with specific cybersecurity and privacy-related responsibilities, including incident response, compliance and implementation of a plan for security compliance maturity.
- Preparing and leading the execution of enterprise security strategies and/or tactical road maps.
- Assessing planned enterprise and solution and service architectures to determine alignment with enterprise security strategies, standards and policies.
- Monitoring compliance with the organization’s information security policies and procedures among employees, contractors and partners and resolving potential issues as needed.
- Demonstrated use of and application of cybersecurity, risk management and control frameworks (such as National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework, NIST Risk Management Framework, and NIST 800-53 controls); working knowledge of regulatory requirements including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); and familiarity with MARS-E requirements and the California Information Practices Act.
