Agenda Set for San Diego Digital Government Summit

The event next week will feature speakers including San Diego Chief Information Officer Jonathan Behnke; Chief Information Security Officer Brendan Daly; Dennis Gakunga, chief sustainability officer for the city of Chula Vista; and Nathan Short, IT director for the Encinitas Union School District.

Technology leaders from government and industry will join next week for the San Diego Digital Government Summit to connect on innovative approaches, get inspired and discover new technologies.

The event, presented by Government Technology*, is open to members of the public sector as well as industry sponsors. It will run from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. June 27 at the DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego — Mission Valley. Registration, the full agenda and other details are available online.

From the public sector, speakers include:
  • Jonathan Behnke, chief information officer for the city of San Diego.
  • Brendan Daly, chief information security officer for the city of San Diego.
  • Dennis Gakunga, chief sustainability officer for the city of Chula Vista.
  • Nathan Short, IT director for the Encinitas Union School District.

Speakers from industry include Roger Billings of Cradlepoint, Charles Elliott from Google and Dr. Angela Hemingway from T-Mobile. The keynote speaker will be Mary Kelly, former commander in the U.S. Navy, who will address the topic of team development and leadership.

In addition to breaks for networking and lunch, the event will offer multiple concurrent breakout sessions.
