The event, according to CDT, will offer vendors “valuable information on how their companies can partner with the state of California.”
The forum will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. June 6, and the agenda is a stout one — and this one includes a discussion on generative artificial intelligence. The state recently published a report on how state agencies should procure, use and train with AI. That document, which was a collaboration of the Government Operations Agency, CDT, DGS, the Office of Digital Innovation and the California Department of Human Resources, serves as an interim guide until a more detailed update is published in 2025.
More information and a registration link for next month’s forum are available online. The agenda will cover:
- DGS Update
- DGS Procurement
- Statewide Technology Procurement
- Cloud Smart
- CALNET
- Critical Services Overview
- Technology Stabilization Program
- Technology Modernization Program
- Generative AI
- Question-and-Answer Period
CDT and DGS are among several state departments that hold these periodic events as a way to solicit solutions from vendors for various needs. Other departments that have held vendor forums include the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Financial Information System for California. Speakers for the June event have not yet been announced.
