The city of Anaheim has signed a $55.8 million agreement for HP to continue managing the city’s information technology, the company announced Monday.
Under the five-year extension,which includes a pair of two-year options, HP will continue managing Anaheim’s IT infrastructure, which it has done since 2003. The company also will upgrade Anaheim’s IT security and disaster recovery, and accelerate the adoption of virtualization and PC power management solutions.
The outsourcing agreement also will bring a new web content management system (CMS) for Anaheim’s city government and expanded videoconferencing to improve the public’s access to Anaheim’s public meetings and services, HP said.
For more than a decade, HP has managed Anaheim’s data center facility and operations, its more than 400 servers, the city’s wired and wireless networks and computing devices for the city’s 2,300 employees. The company also develops and maintains more than 100 applications for Anaheim as well as the city’s Enterprise Virtual Operations Center.
