The California Employment Development Department’s (EDD) online job resource center CalJOBS now has a mobile app to help match job seekers with potential employers.
The app allows those with an account with CalJOBS to search and apply for jobs, receive notifications when new jobs become available, and use the "Jobs Nearby"function to map jobs near their current location.
The free app was developed by Geographic Solutions Inc., whose West Coast office is in Salinas, Calif.
"We’re always looking for new and innovative ways to make our services more accessible and convenient to our customers,"said EDD director Patrick Henning, Jr. in a press release. "[The app] quickly connects job seekers with available jobs —just one of the examples of EDD’s ongoing commitment of matching job seekers with interested employers."
CalJOBS posts job openings from nearly 16,000 websites, including federal, state, and local government job boards. A job seeker must first register with CalJOBS at www.caljobs.ca.gov to create an account. The app is available for free on the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.
