The Child Welfare Digital Services (CWDS) project, part of the Office of Systems Integration under California Health and Human Services, has published a list of anticipated procurements on its website.

The anticipated procurements are scheduled for release in May, July and December, and some are undated. CWDS also provides guidance on the requirements for vendors on the same website. Here are the anticipated procurements, according to CWDS, along with a brief description of each, the type of bid and the anticipated award date:

DevOps Product Advisor: Scope of Services includes advising the DevOps team in implementing and supporting a cloud-based application infrastructure, as well as continuous integration and deployment automation. Anticipated Award Date: May 2018. Bid Type: RFQ (SB/DVBE Option)

Continuous Integration Architect: Scope of Services includes expertise for Continuous Integration to find and address bugs quickly, improve software quality, and reduce the time it takes to validate and release new software updates. Anticipated Award Date: May 2018. Bid Type: RFQ (SB/DVBE Option)

Interface Management Support: Scope of Services includes expertise for Interface management Support. Anticipated Award Date: May 2018. Bid Type: RFO (IT-MSA or CMAS)

CALS Front End Development Team 2 Services: Scope of services includes providing front end development services to augment resources currently engaged in the design and development of the CALS digital service. Anticipated Award Date: May 2018. Bid Type: RFO (CMAS-ADPQ)

Business Architect Services: Scope of services includes assisting the project in building artifacts in an Agile manner that helps the project prioritize business needs, understand business functions, and ensure team outputs provide ongoing business value based on stated business strategies and objectives. Anticipated Award Date: May 2018. Bid Type: RFO (IT-MSA or CMAS)

Data Support Services: Scope of services includes assisting counties in the migration of production CWS/CMS data to be utilized for core product configuration and to support development of the custom services, as well as data from identified decommissioned external systems in CDSS and counties. These resources will augment the general data conversion services effort. Anticipated Award Date: May 2018. Bid Type: RFO (IT-MSA or CMAS)

Web Development Services: Scope of services includes technical services to extend and enhance the project’s digital media presence. Anticipated Award Date: July 2018. Bid Type: RFO (IT-MSA or CMAS)

DevOps 3 Services: Scope of services includes continuious development and operational services for the Child Welfare - New System (CWS-NS) Project. Anticipated Award Date: July 2018. Bid Type: RFO (IT-MSA)

Release Train Services: Scope of services includes supporting the project’s SAFe release management process and updating the project’s Release Management Plan. Anticipated Award Date: July 2018. Bid Type: RFO (IT-MSA or CMAS)

Data Conversion Services: Scope of services data cleansing and data readiness activities which is a critical success factor as it provides data continuity from legacy applications and external systems to the CWS-NS. Anticipated Award Date: December 2018. Bid Type: RFO (IT-MSA or CMAS)

Implementation 2 (Multiple): The CWDS strategy for developing implementation contracts for the remaining Digital Services is as follows: All implementation services for the Intake Digital Service will be performed by our current Intake Implementation contractor, OnCore Consulting. Rather than procuring services of another single vendor to cover implementation in its entirety for the remaining Digital Services, CWDS will release four separate RFOs for the following disciplines of work:

Implementation 2 – Implementation Services: Implementation Services: Plans, manages, and oversees all implementation thru coordination, communication, and readiness activities. Provides schedule management for implementation-specific activities at both Project and state, county, and tribal levels to include OCM, Training Development and Training Delivery Contractors. Anticipated Award Date: TBD. Bid Type: RFO (CMAS)

Implementation 2 – Organizational Change Management: OCM: Develops, delivers and maintains OCM materials, reviews and updates existing OCM templates and OCM processes.

Implementation 2 – Training Development: Training Development: Analyzes, designs, develops, maintains, and updates a complete system training program suitable for both a physical and virtual training environment. Anticipated Award Date: TBD. Bid Type: RFO (CMAS)

Implementation 2 – Training Delivery: Training Delivery: Plans, prepares, evaluates, schedules, and delivers Train-the-Trainer (TTT) training to approximately 250 state, county, and Regional Training Academy (RTA) staff for each quarterly anticipated major release based on the materials provided by the Training Development Contractor. Anticipated Award Date: TBD.
