Brocade Announces Network Subscription for Government Agencies
Brocade today announced that its network infrastructure subscription service is now available to government agencies under the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule through immixGroup, Inc. The service includes pay-as-you-go pricing without term commitments.
LexisNexis Acquires Analytics Firm
LexisNexis Risk Solutions on Tuesday announcedthe company intends to acquire BAIR Analytics, a provider of analytics solutions for public safety, the company announced. BAIR Analytics deploys analytics, mapping and visualization tools to predict crime patterns, according to the announcement. BAIR has served large and small public safety agencies for more than 20 years.
CGI Partners with Estonia on Emergency Response System
CGI has collaborated with the Estonian government to develop and launch a new emergency response system to increase response times and save lives, the company announced this week. The system includes a user-friendly digital map, located both in the control rooms of the Estonian Emergency Response Center and in emergency vehicles. The system recommends the most appropriate resources to be dispatched after receiving real time data from multiple mobile devices. A map displays the scene of the incident, the fastest route there and the real-time location of available resources, the announcement said.
Entisys Solutions to Acquire Premier IT Solutions
Concord, Calif.-based Entisys Solutions has agreed to acquire Premier IT Solutions, a services firm focused on software quality assurance, testing automation and performance monitoring. the company announced on Tuesday. "With the acquisition of Premier IT Solutions, Entisys creates a winning combination to assist customers with enterprise solutions from the infrastructure to the application," said Sue Barsamian, senior vice president of HP Enterprise Group. "We are excited to see two strong HP partners come together and expand their offerings around the New Style of IT," in a statement.
Accenture Appoints Omar Abbosh as Chief Strategy Officer
Accenture on Dec. 22 announced the appointment of Omar Abbosh as chief strategy officer. He succeeds Shawn Collinson, who will retire from the company on March 1, 2015, when Abbosh takes over the position.
AT&T Announces IoT Data Service
At the AT&T Developer Summit in Las Vegas on Monday, the company announced that its M2X Data Service is now commercially available. It’s AT&T’s first Internet of Things (IoT)-managed service for developers, as well as new design tools aimed at making it easier for enterprise developers to create new IoT solutions.
White House CIO Hired by e-Management as SVP, COO
Maryland-based e-Management announced former White House CIO Karen Britton has joined the company’s leadership team as senior vice president and chief operating officer. Britton served in the Obama administration in the Executive Office of the President and as special assistant to President Barack Obama. She led a staff of more than 400 and oversaw a $46 million budget.
