The Cal-VIS system processes and centralizes data collection and management for the bureau. This data includes vehicle, inspection, repair and station performance information. The system also supports Internet and Virtual Private Network technology for the bureau.
The system analyzes processes, including real-time and batch record transfers to and from smog inspection equipment across the state.
The vendor will provide software and hardware that can maintain all vehicle and test data, even if it is collected by third parties; improve the ability to assess data; and maintain Internet access for all inspection devices.
The contract will include three phases:
- Testing and transitioning
- Assumption of all maintenance and operations
- Transition out to the next vendor
