Secretary of State Alex Padilla has added a new feature to the Cal-Access campaign finance database called “Power Search.”
The enhanced search platform, developed by nonpartisan research organization MapLight using open source software, includes state-level political contributions for candidates and ballot measures from individuals, businesses and other campaign committees.
Power Search is Padilla’s first step in modernizing California’s campaign reporting system, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Users can perform customized searches of the data which dates back to 2001 and can be downloaded in raw CSV format.
