The Los Angeles event, set for March 7, will bring together “current and emerging technology leaders with the industry partners that support them,” according to the event announcement. “This invitation-only event provides a space for leaders to collaborate while addressing the most important policy, management and leadership issues surrounding the future of digital government.”
Among the many speakers will be Los Angeles County’s acting Chief Information Officer Peter Loo; Chief Information Security Officer Jeffrey Aguilar; Chief Data Officer Christopher Pailma; Mirian S. Avalos, general manager of Information Technology for the county Internal Services Department (ISD); and Dean Gialamas, general manager in the executive offices of ISD.
Representing the city of Los Angeles will be Chief Information Officer Ted Ross. Pasadena’s CIO, Phillip Leclair, will also be participating, as will Charles Eckstrom, CIO for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, and Leah Oliver, chief technology officer for the Ventura County Employees’ Retirement Association.

The California Public Sector CIO Academy, an iconic event in California IT, is scheduled for March 18-19 at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento. This event features a full roster of speakers and panelists representing state government technology, led by state CIO and California Department of Technology Director Liana Bailey-Crimmins.
This year’s academy, Bailey-Crimmins said, “is expected to be bigger and better than ever!” In the event announcement, she adds: “I’m looking forward to seeing you and the hundreds of IT leaders and professionals from across government and the private sector who will exchange ideas and discover technology advancements that are making public services more accessible, efficient, equitable, and secure for everyone.”
