California Recognizes Graduates of IT Leadership Academy 22

The annual nine-month training program for state IT professionals is designed to groom the next generation of technology leaders.

Thirty graduates completed the California Department of Technology’s IT Leadership Academy (ITLA 22) and were recognized for the achievement on Friday.

The annual nine-month training program for state IT professionals is designed to groom the next generation of technology leaders. Under the mentorship of an executive sponsor, the class participates in a rigorous series of classroom sessions, lectures, forums and field trips.

Focus areas typically include public speaking, how to manage a budget and develop an IT plan, vendor management, procurement, conflict resolution and project management.

For its class project, ITLA 22 helped develop a one-stop website for California business that was soft launched last month.

The California Business Portal consolidates information about business registration, licensing and permitting, tax credits and incentive programs, and other topics that was previously only available on separate, siloed Web pages.
