The state and its local jurisdictions were recognized for their work to connect residents to more accessible, equitable and engaging digital services during the ninth annual Government Experience Awards* late last month.
The state of California cemented a first place win with its digital response to the devastating Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year. The website, ca.gov/lafires, served as an avenue for affected residents to find information ranging from temporary shelters to information on rebuilding a home to vital records access and beyond. Officials also leveraged data analytics to build the platform to be responsive to users’ needs.
The city of Los Angeles Harbor Department, also known as the Port of Los Angeles, received an Overall Outstanding Achievement award for its AI Security Operations Cyber Resilience Center project.
The city of San Diego was also recognized with an Overall Outstanding Achievement award for its Public Health Center Online Appointment System project. The city also received a Government Experience award for its SD Access 4 All Digital Navigator Program.
The city of Santa Rosa was recognized for its Advanced Weather Analysis and Reporting Engine (A.W.A.R.E.) project.
The county of Alameda was recognized for its Transforming Talent Management in Alameda County project.
The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk was recognized for its Robotic Process Automation project to streamline recorder and election support.
Finally, the county of Santa Clara was recognized for its Medical Provider Finder, AI Image Enhancement project.
