The UC has negotiated an expansion of a systemwide agreement with Tableau for business intelligence software.

The expansion included an extension of the contract and a doubled discount throughout the system for Desktop Professional, Server Interactor or Server Core purchases by UC institutions. This includes another 20 percent discount through December 2018.

Tableau products are used by instructors and students for data research and visualization.

Subscriptions, licensing and maintenance are also capped at the initial contract prices under the UC IT Strategic Sourcing agreement.

The original agreement, which has been converted to a competitively bid agreement, was made in 2015. The UC system estimates the new agreement will create $248,475 in savings.
