The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, which handles permitting, tax payments and fees, has been experiencing website outages, both planned and unplanned.
There were unplanned outages on April 30, extending payments and return filing until Tuesday.
Separately, parts of the site were scheduled to be down until Sunday. When they come back online May 7, more services will be available. The new services will include prepayment and return filing for sales tax, use taxes, consumer use taxes, tire fees and tobacco Internet purchase tax.
The department is an offshoot of the state Board of Equalization.
