The California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) has selected NTT DATA Inc. to support the agency’s SAP system, according to a Dec. 13 announcement from the company.
Under the contract, NTT DATA Inc. will be tasked with providing CalSTRS maintenance and operation for its SAP system. According to bid documents, the company's services will be used to support certain system functionality, including business rules framework, general ledger, cash management and more.
The project’s request for proposal was issued in February and the contract was officially awarded in September. The contract amount was more than $13 million.
In addition to its contract with NTT DATA, CalSTRS issued a bid for a separate SAP project on Oct. 3. The tasks included in this solicitation will involve the “removal of specified pension-related functionality and interfaces from an existing SAP system, and for the design, build, test and deployment of the SAP-side of interfaces with CalSTRS’ new pension system."
During the contract term, which CalSTRS expects will be for a period of at least four years, the selected contractor will work in partnership with CGIntegrator of the new pension system. Proposals in response to this bid must be received by Nov. 9. The tentative contract award date is Feb. 10, 2017.
