The technology director and chief information officer for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and two of her deputies will be featured in an exclusive members-only briefing and mixer to be presented by Industry Insider — California.
Kristin Montgomery, CIO and director of Enterprise Information Services for CDCR, will be featured along with Edmond Blagdon, deputy director of integrated business and technology solutions, and Richard Gillespie, deputy director of IT operations and support.
The briefing will run from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento, followed by a members’ mixer at the hotel. The event is open to members of Industry Insider — California.
Montgomery, who’s been CIO for the department since June 2021, oversees all IT strategy and operations for CDCR, one of the largest departments in state government. The department has more than 57,000 employees, a $12.8 billion total annual budget and an estimated annual IT budget of $422 million. Montgomery was featured in an Industry Insider “One-on-One” interview in August, and Gillespie was featured in a “One-on-One” in June 2021, while he was chief technology officer for the California Department of Social Services.
