The California Department of Technology (CDT) and the Employment Development Department (EDD) are recruiting for management and specialty positions. CDT is seeking a system administrator, and EDD is seeking a lead UI online developer. Details are below.

System Administrator (IT Manager I)
$9,114 to $12,213 per month

The system administrator guides the administration, monitoring, maintenance and support of production security systems and services managed by CDT’s Security Solutions Administration. The administrator ensures that security monitoring, compliance and controls are in place for the computing and network services used by CDT’s Office of Information Security and its customers.

Essential duties of the position include:
  • Work with technical subject matter experts, management and other public-sector entities to develop, implement and maintain appropriate vulnerability assessments, remediation, and compliance as well as respond to security incidents
  • Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of IT security infrastructure and technologies, applicable state and federal and industry regulations and best practices with respect to information security
  • Develop and maintain mastery knowledge of the IT threat landscape, risk management processes and technologies, multiple operating systems, network architecture and protocols, as well as interoperability and interdependency of all of those and more

Lead UI Online Developer (IT Specialist II)
$8,374 to $11,220 per month

EDD is seeking a senior-level developer to work in the Product Development Division of EDD’s IT Branch, integrating applications and third-party services. The developer acts as an adviser to technical teams on technical solutions, application performance and change management.

In addition, the developer works as lead architect in the Product Development Division to plan, strategize for technical projects and provide support for the Unemployment Insurance Online (UIO) application. The incumbent is also responsible for troubleshooting critical component and transactional failures and supporting complex technical tasks and activities for the UIO. This includes environment support, build deployments, source code management and version control. This development role also supports UI Online interfaces such as BizTalk, SOA, web services, SSIS and other interfaces as required.
