Deadline Extended: CIO Academy Award Nominations Due Jan. 19

Reminder: The nomination deadline has been extended to Jan. 19 for leadership awards to be given during the 2017 Public Sector CIO Academy on March 1 and 2 in Sacramento.

Techwire's parent company, e.Republic, is accepting nominations for leadership awards to be given during the 2017 Public Sector CIO Academy on March 1 and 2 in Sacramento.

The deadline for nominations from public-sector agencies has been extended until Jan. 19, 2017. Please see more information below and send paperwork to Rebecca Friedman, rfriedman@govtech.com.

THE CALIFORNIA CIO ACADEMY IT LEADERSHIP AWARD is a chance for you to honor an IT manager or supervisor in your organization; the individual you select will receive the award. This award recognizes the person in your organization who, over the last year, demonstrated exceptional leadership, customer service and public stewardship through:

  • Leading a team
  • Serving the organization
  • Implementing innovative solutions
  • Serving constituents
Selections should include the following information:

1. Name
2. Job Title
3. Organization
4. Award winner’s phone number
5. Award winner’s email address
6. A statement (no more than 100 words) of accomplishments

Note: Large agencies or departments may select up to three individuals.

THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC CIO OF THE YEAR & CALIFORNIA PUBLIC CTO OF THE YEAR recognize an outstanding public sector Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer who exemplifies the following attributes:
Demonstrates outstanding leadership;
Develops future IT leaders;
Develops innovative solutions to help your organization achieve its goals;
Creates an outstanding technology organization; and
Creates strategies to promote information sharing and collaboration among government organizations.

The CIO of the Year and CTO of the Year will be chosen by a selection panel of the CIO Academy Advisory Board. Nominations should include the following information:

1. Selection of either CIO or CTO of the Year Nomination
2. Name
3. Job Title
4. Organization
5. Nominee’s phone number
6. Nominee’s email address
7. Nominator’s name, job title, organization and contact information
8. A statement (no more than 500 words) of why this individual should be recognized as the California CIO or CTO of the Year
9. A statement of the greatest accomplishment this year (2016; no more than 250 words)
