App developers will compete for three $25,000 prizes in the Accela Construct App Challenge.
To win, developers must make apps that help government workers, citizens or businesses complete a civic process or fill a civic need. The apps must integrate with the Accela Civic platform, and developers are encouraged to use datasets from CivicData.com.
The registration deadline is July 1. Submissions, which must include a pitch, prototype screens and a description of the app, are due July 8. Developers can register for the competition on the challenge’s Hacker League page.
Judges Steve Ressler, founder and president of GovLoop; Jon Walton, CIO of San Mateo County; and Jeff Stiles, vice president of marketing at Accela will announce the winners on July 15.
