Head of Cloud Platforms and AI (IT Manager II)

The Department of Industrial Relations has put out a call for a head of cloud platforms and AI within its Office of Information Services. The role, reporting to the department CIO, leads strategic implementation and ongoing operations of major enterprise platforms including ServiceNow, Salesforce, Google Cloud and Microsoft cloud services, with an emphasis on aligning technology with business goals and statewide digital modernization priorities.

The position’s core responsibilities center on strategic leadership and governance, including developing multiyear road maps for cloud, data and AI adoption; chairing governance bodies; and ensuring compliance with security, privacy and regulatory standards. Another major portion involves program and project delivery oversight, directing platform-related initiatives, supervising subordinate managers, managing vendor contracts and promoting modern practices such as agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD and MLOps/LLMOps.

Employment Development Department
Document Management System Developer (IT Specialist I)

The document management system (DMS) developer serves within the Employment Development Department’s Application Services Division under the direction of an IT Manager I. The role functions as a senior developer supporting mission-critical enterprise applications through complex analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting. The position also involves providing technical consultation to project teams and resolving enterprise-level technical issues.

Key responsibilities include engineering and maintaining complex application software solutions within the DMS, developing new applications and enhancements and supporting both custom-built and commercial off-the-shelf systems. The role requires strong programming expertise in languages such as VB.NET, C#, JavaScript, SQL and the use of modern tools and platforms including GitHub, Amazon Textract, IBM Datacap/FileNet, AWS Lambda, Snowflake and Tableau. The incumbent conducts full system development life cycle activities, prepares technical documentation and mentors other technical staff.
