Junior-high and high-school students with an interest in cybersecurity are invited to enroll in a free three-day education program this summer at one of five community colleges in the Sacramento region.

The "CyberPatriot CyberCamps" will feature topics such as system hardening, access control and system protection, and includes team competitions and an awards program. Community college instructors and high-school teachers will lead the instruction.

The camps are being organized by the Greater Sacramento Region’s Information and Communication Technology – Digital Media (ICT/DM) Sector Navigation Team. Sierra College professor Steve Linthicum is the lead.

The sessions are intended for students with little or no background in cybersecurity. The cost is free and breakfast and lunch are included. Space is limited, so register online here.
