The California Department of Technology has its new chief counsel.
That would be Holly Pearson, who has served as assistant chief counsel for the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) since 2020.
Pearson replaced Sahana Ayer, who was CDT’s chief counsel from 2020 through April of this year. Ayer now works for the Department of Health Care Access and Information.
Pearson has had a 20-year career with California state government, starting with DMHC in 2006. Since then she has held legal positions with the Government Operations Agency and the Office of Administrative Law.
Before that she was a partner at the Sacramento-area firm Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard. She holds a doctorate of law from the McGeorge School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California.
Governor Names CDT’s New Chief Counsel
The new appointee, who comes from the Department of Managed Health Care, replaces former Chief Counsel Sahana Ayer, who now works for another California agency.
