“This developers’ site gives all the information that developers need to more easily understand the mechanics to making system calls using the ISO’s application programming interfaces (API),” the ISO announcement says. “Developers, for instance, can find connectivity instructions, interface definition files, sample code, and URLs, along with a handy glossary of acronyms and technical terminology common in our specification documents.”
The new protected website is designed for developers interested in connecting to ISO systems. Registration is required for access.
“The site is for entities, such as existing market participants, approved interested parties and new western Energy Imbalance Market participants that need to connect to ISO systems as part of their normal business operations,” ISO says.
The website features a step-by-step guide to help developers move through the registration process and gain access to the apps. The guide includes instructions on downloading necessary tools, formatting commands, and retrieving and sending data, using screenshots to help explain certain steps. Developers will also find an FAQ page and a news section to keep developers up to date.
