Eyragon Eidam, a veteran journalist who most recently served as news editor for Government Technology, has been named managing editor for Industry Insider California.

Theo Douglas, who’s provided thorough coverage of all things tech for Insider for the last five years as the publication’s assistant managing editor, is moving into Eidam’s previous role as GovTech’s news editor.

“This is a win-win for our editorial teams and our audience,” said Noelle Knell, executive editor for e.Republic, parent company to both Industry Insider and Government Technology. “I look forward to seeing what Eyragon brings to our California coverage and to watch Theo lead the GT team in staying on top of state and local IT news across the country.”

Douglas is also excited about his new role.

“I’ll truly miss covering California government IT, but I am thrilled to rejoin the team at Government Technology,” Douglas said. “I am excited to work with GT staff to guide coverage of national public- and private-sector gov tech news.”

And Eidam is also eagerly embracing his new role.

“The writers and editors that make up the GovTech team are second to none,” Eidam said. “Leaving my editorial home for the last nine years is bittersweet, but I’m really looking forward to working on the Industry Insider California team.”

Dennis Noone remains executive editor for the Industry Insider editions in California, Texas and Florida.
