Serco Inc. announced in a press release on Monday, July 7, that it has been awarded through competitive procurement a new $25 million contract to provide parking enforcement, management of parking meter operations and traffic control operations for the city of Inglewood, Calif.
The Reston, Va.-based company said the contract is for 10 years with the potential for two five-year options. Serco said it began work on project in late June and expects to hire for as many as 75 new jobs in the community, located southwest of downtown L.A..
According to the news release, Serco will provide daily parking enforcement, traffic control, dispatch and customer service; enforcement through the use of license plate recognition technology; and operations and maintenance of Inglewood’s 1,900 parking meters. The company also expects to develop new parking enforcement guidelines and establish performance standards for consistent parking enforcement.
Serco provides parking enforcement management services to government clients across the U.S., including the Virginia and Georgia departments of transportation, the city of West Hollywood, and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.
