SARTA has a new leader as of Wednesday, with longtime Placer County Supervisor Kirk Uhler taking on CEO duties for the Sacramento nonprofit organization.
Uhler owns the Rensa Group, a marketing communications and government relations firm in Roseville. He also is a co-founder of Vidgage, a social media platform enabling websites to offer commenting on video content.
"This is an exciting time for the region with the current spotlight on private sector business attraction and economic development. I hope to use the combination of my business startup and local government experiences to help SARTA continue to play a vital role fostering entrepreneurship in our area," Uhler said in a statement on Monday.
Uhler’s current term on the Placer County Board of Supervisors runs through 2016. He has served as the COO of the Electric & Gas Industries Association, and was a founding employee of CarsDirect.com and Solar Power, Inc. He resides in Granite Bay with his wife and two children.
Uhler is replacing Meg Arnold, who announced in July she would be leaving SARTA after six years with the alliance.
The Sacramento Regional Technology Alliance (SARTA) was founded in 2001 with the mission of accelerating development of the technology sector in the nine-county Sacramento region.
