The Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office is looking for an IT-focused Chief Information Officer.
The application opened Aug. 17 and will close Sept. 14.
"They did a little bit of a shift in their thinking and decided to move more toward, 'Let's have a CIO in the position and give the position the authority it needs,'" Pamela Missett, head of executive recruitment, told Techwire.
The position is appointed; the interim CIO, Robert King, will be returning to his previous county position.
"The appointed Chief Information Officer will direct and modernize the IT organization via augmentation of best-practices including Project Management Office, Solutions Architecture, Data Analysis, and optimizing customer service leveraging CRM tools and partnering with ISD," the job advertisement reads.
"The real goal of the position is to really transform them into a modern IT system," Missett said. "The system would support the delivery of high-quality client care."
The new CIO will oversee the upgrading of network and legacy systems and refreshment of laptops and devices. The goal is to create "total mobility for our defense team."
"We want the CIO to really focus on transforming the PD's server frame to the county's state-of-the-art data center," Missett said.
The salary ranges from $125,321 to $189,684.
