Los Angeles World Airports, the organization responsible for managing procurement and governance services for Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Van Nuys Airport, is seeking a new identity management and credentialing system.

Many identity management and credentialing systems use key cards that are attached to vital records for the card holder.

The new system is meant to replace an older model across both LAX and Van Nuys. The current system includes badges that are attached to fingerprint records of all employees. Each badge is also color-coded for easy identification.
According to the pre-proposal meeting, it will serve to:

  • Enhance security and efficiency of badge applicant processing
  • Replace the existing CS System with a new IMCS System
  • Automate remaining manual processes where warranted
  • Add new and replace existing system interfaces
The system will also reduce risk to the airport, both internally and externally. It will also assist in streamlining business processes.

Key factors in the proposed plan will be user experience, innovation, delivery approach and change management.

Training plans for core users and end users will also be required, as will a plan to change over to the new system.

You can search for the RFP here. The application window closes Aug. 28.
