In addition to overseeing cloud, Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) functions, the manager also sets IT processes and standards; formulates future long-range vision and objectives; aligns and reviews implementation; and ensures conformance of the unit with organizational policies and objectives, according to the job posting and duty statement.
Desirable qualifications for the position include:
- Experience in leading/managing technical staff at various levels of technical skills.
- Experience in network administration, architecture, and designing local and wide area networks.
- A probing, analytical approach with the ability to pre-empt potential problems and identify inefficiencies.
- Experience working with third-party vendors and service providers.
- Expert knowledge of IT systems, equipment and capabilities and interfaces between hardware and software, and the requirements for the installation and implementation of the most complex software systems.

The engineering manager reports to the Lottery’s assistant deputy director and chief technology officer in the Information Technology Services Division.
