The California State Lottery is recruiting for two positions in technology.

The Lottery is seeking a senior product manager (IT Specialist II) with certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute. Responsibilities of the role, according to the job posting, include:
  • Lead and manage complex enterprise projects in the Lottery’s project portfolio; drive projects to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Actively manage your developed project schedule; identify risks and issues; ensure timely decision-making; and provide regular project communications to stakeholders.
  • In alignment with PMI best practices, ensure continuous improvement of project management standards, guidelines, processes, procedures, methodologies, templates, and other supporting materials.
  • Provide enterprise project management thinking and expertise to assigned projects, while lending support to divisional project leads, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
Desirable qualifications for the role, in addition to PMP certification, include:
  • Four years’ enterprise project management experience leading projects.
  • Experience in the development of high-quality project artifact documents and related project schedules.
  • Experience in activities related to change management.
  • Excellent meeting facilitation and presentation skills to executive and project sponsors.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and use persuasion when necessary to ensure the success of the team and/or project.

The Lottery is also recruiting for a business solutions architect (IT Specialist II) to perform “the most complex business analysis, design, planning and implementation” and to “create and maintain business process documentation and requirements for IT applications and lead impact analysis for change requests.”

The duties of the position, according to the job posting and duty statement, include:
  • Develop and maintain business flow diagrams for all Lottery applications and interdependencies.
  • Evaluate and analyze change requests, system impacts, and alternate solutions.
  • Assesses business scope, complexities, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with business subject matter experts to review operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and problems to develop improvements, modifications, and enhancements.
  • Determine the relevance and potential value of new technologies to support business objectives and strategies.
The monthly salary range for this position is $8,130 to $10,893, and the application deadline is July 2.
