IT leaders from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) are scheduled to brief insiders at an exclusive, members-only event in Sacramento Nov. 14.
The members-only briefing will feature the department’s Enterprise Information Services (EIS) Director Edmond Blagdon and Deputy Director Jeffery Funk and will focus on current and future IT priorities and challenges.
CDCR ranks among the largest state departments in terms of budget and personnel. This year, the department is estimated to have about $518 million budgeted for IT, with an overall estimated budget of $13.9 billion.
Blagdon joined EIS in 2018 and was named its IT director in June 2024. Throughout his career, Blagdon has worked with a number of state and county departments, including the Employment Development Department, the Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services and others.
Funk, meanwhile, has been with CDCR since 2013. He was elevated to the deputy director role in September 2024. Prior to joining the department, he held IT leadership roles with the California departments of General Services and Fish and Wildlife.
Members are encouraged to register as soon as possible for the event, which is being held at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West hotel from 9:30-11 a.m. More information about the briefing and registration instructions are available here.
